Position Overview:
Calvert Street Group is a corporate and political campaign consulting firm focusing on state and local affairs, land-use and development, ballot initiatives, and grassroots lobbying. Winning the nation’s most difficult corporate campaigns requires the best political organizers, which is why we are looking to hire an experienced Associate Director of Digital - Organizing who will play a key role in driving the digital engagement and organizing strategy for our clients’ campaigns. This individual will be responsible for creating and executing innovative digital strategies that mobilize supporters, engage communities, and expand the reach of our campaigns. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of digital organizing tools, social media platforms, and data-driven advocacy, while also possessing a passion for growing teams and managing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement digital strategy: Work with the Director of Digital on developing comprehensive digital strategies for our clients while also leading the overall digital organizing strategy, ensuring alignment with campaign goals, voter outreach efforts, and grassroots mobilization.
• Manage digital platforms: Work with the team to oversee client campaign social media, website, email, and texting programs to ensure effective communication and engagement.
• Optimize digital content: Work closely with the campaign team and in-house and contracted designers to develop compelling digital content that resonates with target audiences.
• Lead online organizing efforts: Engage and mobilize supporters online through digital petitions, webinars, virtual events, phone-banking, texting campaigns, and other online tactics.
• Use data to drive decision-making: Analyze digital engagement data to measure the effectiveness of digital organizing efforts, refine strategies, and optimize campaigns for voter outreach.
• Build and maintain digital volunteer networks: Help identify and recruit grassroots leaders to expand online engagement and organizing efforts in the communities our clients work in.
• Monitor trends in digital advocacy: Stay ahead of digital trends, social media strategies, and online organizing best practices to ensure the campaign is using cutting-edge tools and tactics.
• Manage digital budget: Aide the Director of Digital in growing the digital strategy team of the firm, including the marketing and pitching of the team’s capabilities. Qualifications:
• Experience: 3-5 years in digital organizing with at least 1 year of experience in a leadership, management, or strategic role.
• Political Campaign Experience: Prior experience working on a political campaign or in political advocacy preferred, with a proven record of using digital tools for voter engagement.
• Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with digital organizing platforms social media tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social), communication tools (e.g., VAN, Slack, Zoom), media monitoring software (e.g., MeltWater).
• Strategic Thinking: Strong ability to develop, implement, and optimize digital strategies that align with campaign objectives and maximize community engagement.
• Excellent Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.
• Data-Driven: Experience with analytics tools and the ability to analyze digital engagement data to inform and adjust strategies.
• Leadership & Team Management: Experience managing teams, including volunteers and contractors, with a focus on collaboration, training, and results.
• Problem-Solving & Adaptability: Ability to think creatively and solve complex problems in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
